bullying? Is it because this silent epidemic is finally being brought into light and talked
Workplace bullying can be defined as the repeated, deliberate, disrespectful behavior
toward another. Workplace bullies generally use words and actions to intimidate
those around them. During the past decade in the United States, the issue has
attracted media attention, legal attention, and union attention. Estimates suggest that
American businesses lose approximately $300 billion per year as a result of the loss of
productivity, absenteeism, turnover, and increased medical costs due to the increased

The presence of bullying in the workplace reflects the nature of humans as they interact
at work. It is no disgrace that it occurs in your organization too. It would be rare if it did
not. What matters most is what we as HR professionals do when it is brought to our
attention. In our program you will learn about the Healthy Workplace Bill (HWB) and
how it is a win for employers. You will learn how to put a system in place in order to
serve one better against this injustice.
In our session, you will gain valuable insight into the following topics:
• Learn warning signs of the workplace bullying
• Identify if you are being bullied and how to confront the bully
• Highlight the types of and consequences of a workplace bully
• Recognize the environment a workforce bully thrives in
• Gain tips on HR’s role to confront, stop and prevent bullying at work
• Update on the new laws targeting workplace bullying
This meeting has already been pre-approved for SHRM Credits and HRCI Credits.
