    This presentation will help HR Professionals prepare for and prevent an active threat situation.  Mark Fender will provide tips and proactive prevention methods to help HR Professionals prioritize their safety responsibilities around screening, training and counseling their workforce.

    Speaker - Mark Fender:  Mark Fender currently serves as a Deputy Chief for a large suburban police department with more than 26 years’ experience. As a member of his Department,  Mark has served in the Patrol Division, Motor Cycle Unit, Southwest Enforcement Bureau (a Special Weapons And Tactics team) and Shift Commander.  He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 1997 and Lieutenant in 1999.  Mark serves as the Department’s Fitness Coordinator; he is one of the agency's Firearms Instructors and supervises the department’s Staff and Support Services.  Mark is a graduate of The Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy, Northwestern University for Supervision of Police Personnel, Police Executive Leadership College (PELC), and the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Va. Mark also serves as a Physical Fitness Instructor at a local Police Academy. He is married to Ilona and is father to Carrie, Joshua and Hannah, and is a grandfather to Adalaina.
