    Kathy Breitenbucher, Economic Developer
    Medina County Economic Development Corporation
Navigating the Workforce Solutions Available in Medina County
    1. Definition of the problem
    2. What are your specific challenges?
    3. What causes someone to not be eligible for employment?
    4. Solutions available
Kathy Breitenbucher became an Economic Developer in March of 2016 and it was just a few business visits that showed her the biggest business challenge in the county is workforce. Using her experience in recruiting, training and retention of employees, she began identifying solutions that exist in the county already as well as develop new programs to help solve workforce challenges.
Having a strong background in human resources and recruiting, Kathy has a unique perspective on why these issues are so challenging. She started her career first placing temporary workers and then being responsible for the marketing for a 16-office temporary system in a region with under 5% unemployment. She was responsible for human resources in the majority of positions she has held and was the head of operations for an executive search franchise. It was her job to train business professionals coming out of another field in the ways of finding talent, matching it to the job description and culture, and how to run a business.
The Medina County Economic Development Corporation now has over 30 workforce initiatives and 18 partners in the region to help solve workforce challenges. She will help us all navigate those solutions and programs to find the right ones to fit our companies.
